Bucket List: The Notes Unheard

Imagine this. A car ride home. Your favorite song comes on. You are going belt out the words to the chorus no matter who is going to watch. Now let me ask, were you good? When I ask myself, I say yes, but I know that I am mediocre.

Lately, I have been singing in the car and at home more and more not knowing how well I am actually singing. I would absolutely love to become more musical. Not necessarily to become famous or anything, but just to try to impress people or feel more confident about myself. Learning another instrument (other than the Alto Saxophone, which I already know) is also a goal of mine. Which one? I have no idea.

Having different stations on Pandora like Mark Vincent and Ed Sheeran really make me want to sing my heart out. I have seen others sing confidently in public and around friends. The did not sing loudly or causing an impromptu concert in the middle of a grocery store, but confident and free of care that they will be judged. This is what I want to be able to do. To go somewhere and just be able to sing along with a song and not told to shut up or that I am bad.

On the flip side, it would be so cool to be able to sit down at a random piano and just play. Or even just to go somewhere and play on a guitar or ukulele or some type of instrument. I do have experience with a saxophone, but people might not appreciate a random sax solo in the middle of a park or mall. Having the patience to learn a new instrument is where I am failing right now.

Combining both together would finally allow me to check this off of my bucket list. I know it does not necessarily seem cool, but it is something I hope for in the future.
